A pharmaceutical company called Sun Pharma has agreed to pay $1.4 million to settle allegations that its drug giant, Sun Pharma, had improperly ordered a number of drugs that were not approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), leading to a price increase for its popular erectile dysfunction drug Viagra.
In a lawsuit filed in U. S. District Court, Sun Pharma alleges that the FDA’s alleged delay in regulating the market was due to the company’s “unregulated and unapproved drug” use, which is a type of prescription medicine that requires doctors to obtain a prescription before having sex with a woman, and was also used to treat other health conditions.
The settlement, which was reached by a panel of federal judges, will be a final step in the ongoing investigation and investigations of the companies. The lawsuit says that the FDA’s investigation revealed that Sun Pharma and others used “illegal”, unapproved drugs to treat erectile dysfunction, and it found that the companies had conspired to violate federal law.
